  1. How do you think these animations were created?
I think they took a still image, then either recorded or took more stills in different positions with different movements, and cropped everything else out besides the 1st main still and the objects they wanted to move.

How did these make you feel?
These made me feel good. I thought they were nice photos and added something new to just plain images.

What happens when we combine multiple images to create animations?
It creates like a sort of video, instead of a plain image. It has movement to it. Makes it more interesting, and makes it stand out more.

Is it photography, is it film, is it somewhere in between.
I think it is somewhere in between. It is like a mixture of both. It is photography because you are taking pictures and still using the same stuff and doing the same things as photography. But also the same stuff as film. So it’s a mixture.

  2. How do you think these animations were created?
Using multiple images in a stop motion kind of reel set to a certain amount of frames per second
How did these make you feel?
They make me feel as if i’m watching a miniature scene, or scenario in which the photographer caught.
What happens when we combine multiple images to create animations?
It creates a “Stop Motion” affect.
Is it photography, is it film, is it somewhere in between.
It mix of all i’d like to confidently say. basically in between.

    -By combining multiple photos.
How did these make you feel?
-Like the photo had more depth to what was happening.
What happens when we combine multiple images to create animations?
-We create the illusion of a video.
Is it photography, is it film, is it somewhere in between.
-Considering only photos are used, its a photography.

  4. I would think that the animation was cut frame by frame to fit the image or filmed the animation and matched a picture to it. Little strange kinda gives off that feeling of motions that we hide at point of time. You create movement an illusion. Its somewhere in between its an interesting take that could be expanded on.

  5. How do you think these animations were created? i think it was a short video and they just keep on replaying it.
How did these make you feel? makes me feel weird, something that you wouldn’t see anywhere, only in cool photography.
What happens when we combine multiple images to create animations? it creates something like a short video that repeats and repeats.
Is it photography, is it film, is it somewhere in between. i think its somewhere in between.

  6. I think these images were created by taking multiple photos and making them all into one. The photos make me feel inspired. I really would like to try making my own! When we combine multiple images to make animations I feel like it makes it more interesting and unique. I think this is definitely somewhere between photography and video, because its still photography, but with animations.

  7. How do you think these animations were created? I think these images were created by the photographer taking a photos of all these subjects looking and having the slightest movement in each picture. When he put them all back together they all look like they are moving.
How did these make you feel? I think these are pretty cool. I like the way that the whole subject is not moving but part of them or parts of their accessories are moving.
What happens when we combine multiple images to create animations? You get what this guy has created.
Is it photography, is it film, is it somewhere in between? It is both. The photographer needed to take photos in order to make these images move like a film.

~ im pretty sure photoshop was used and maybe a couple different photos of the parts that are moving and then they were put together .

How did these make you feel?
~ these images made me feel like laughing but also left me in awe because it amazes me as to how they got the images to be still in all other parts except for the moving parts.

What happens when we combine multiple images to create animations?
~ when you combine images you get GIFS

Is it photography, is it film, is it somewhere in between.
~ i think it is somewhere inbetween because your watching a moving picture but it repeats itself over and over so its not a film but it moves so its not a photograph

  9. To be honest I have no idea on how those animations were created because those photo look hard to take with animations with the photo. Maybe the photographers could have done some kind of animation in the computer then when after they take the photo the photographers put the animation and the photo together. I think if you take multiple photos you can make them into a animation. I believe it is sort of both because it uses both photography and film.

  10. They took a still image and layered a video in the parts necessary. If we combined multiple images then it would make a short video.
I think that it is somewhere between the two because it has both elements.

I am getting a New York vibe when I look at these, so i feel like I should be in New York when I look at these. It makes a short video. I think that it is somewhere in between film and photography.

  12. These images were created by taking multiple shots and using a gif editor. Im not sure how they make me feel, i’ve seen something like this before so its not new to me. A gif is created when you get multiple images to make an animation. Its something in between a photo and film

  13. The way I think these portraits were made was that the photographer took the first photo, then took numerous others with the person doing something else, then merged them together, cropping them so they would only show one movement.

These images are pretty funny to me, seeing as how some of these pictures show the person doing something funny, yet remaining blank faced and completely still while doing it.

Combining multiple images to create animation gives you a GIF.

I think these are mainly in between the lines of film and photography. They aren’t pictures, but they aren’t film. In my opinion, they’re animations.

  14. I believe that these animations were created by putting multiple images together or took one picture, then recorded an action in the same pose, and then edited over the image. Some of the images that I viewed made me feel as if I was right there with the subject (for instance, the girl on the beach with the waving blanket). I think that when we combine multiple images to create animations we create a living, moving photograph which could be quite awesome at times. I believe it is an image called a GIF (pronounced “jif”). The GIF is a moving part(s) within a non-moving image.

How did these make you feel? Its a different style i would like to create. What happens when we combine multiple images to create animations? It creates a some what of a video like effect. Is it photography, is it film, is it somewhere in between. This photography because your adding multiple photos to a still photo to make this video like image. So its both but also different.

  17. I think these animations were created in a video Photoshop with the video of a guy danging and the the still photo of him, standing inserted after the video was taken. It made me feel happy, and intrigued because I haven’t seen a photo like that before. Makes me want to try something like that but instead of a guy dancing maybe a shadow monster and my niece standing by a wall. I think this is both photography and a film, because you cant capture that clear of a shadow without it being a film if you tried using shuttle speed the movements in the background would be sloppy and unclear.

  20. How do you think these animations were created?
I think that these animations where created by taking 4 or more pictures using one as a base and editing specific parts that he wants to change to make it appear like they’re moving when in reality its just changing between different pictures.

How did these make you feel?
These pictures made me feel confused and some what stunned. Its pretty odd seeing a still image appear to have only some parts move while the rest is completely still.

What happens when we combine multiple images to create animations? It is basically stop motion, while everything else there may be some parts that appear to be moving.

Is it photography, is it film, is it somewhere in between?
It is essentially film, because film itself is a bunch of still images moving at an extremely fast rate. At the same time there is a main picture as its base which contradicts the whole thought and principle of film, so its in between.

  21. I think that these were created by some sorta photo taken the a film thing. These were very different and confusing. When you use multiple images to create animations its like a slide show of the photos so it looks like the image is moving even though its many different photos. I think it could be somewhere between a photo and a film.

I really cant pin point out what he possibly could have done to this photo it is really nice though. Honestly this made me feel like a not to good photographer because I hope we don’t have to do that because I won’t be able too. The images he created happens , I don’t know. It could have been somewhere in between like he had to take a motion photo and in that photo was a video.

  24. i think this was created by taking a video of the mving things and putting a picture in front of it. made me feel really confused because i dont know how these were made and its confusing seeing only certain things moving. when you combine images it makes a choppy video but only the photos that are combined are moving. i say its somewhere in between because it has some aspects of film and some of photography.

  25. this was probably mad by using a video mode as video and film is simply many, many pictures being shown sequentially and quickly to appear as movement and movement itself is just thousands, millions or, more of small moments that all combine into a motion. stopping motion in one fraction of itself is what photography is and that’s why i would consider this film instead of a photo.

  26. How do you think these animations were created?
Multiple pictures were taken to make this photo, they had to use Photoshop to make sure the still image was still there but then other images were combined to make these other ones.

How did these make you feel?
It makes me think of how they did it and how amazing it is to see that video can be combined with images.

What happens when we combine multiple images to create animations? Is it photography, is it film, is it somewhere in between.
You make a film called stop motion which is hard and takes precision. It is somewhere in between because it has to be made with pictures and filmed to make the moving part.

I believe they used a extremely fast shutter speed and taking a bunch of pictures rapidly, then taking one and freezing it using the rest and editing them in causing that moving motions then put into a repeated affect so it wont stop. Slightly confused but other then that not much. Apparently it caused a video affect when you combine multiple images, and i think its in-between photography and a film its not long enough to be a “film” buts its a moving picture so it can’t be “photography”

I would say it in between because there filming it but at the same time taking a picture.

  30. How do you think these animations were created?
I think these photos were created using a different program. Maybe that put the image into the program and traced out a specific object in the image and made a motion with it. Creating an animation effect.

How did these make you feel?
These pictures make me feel weird because the movement in the picture just make it look a little odd.

What happens when we combine multiple images to create animations? Is it photography, is it film, is it somewhere in between.
Have the camera on the tripod and take multiple pictures while moving the object. Make layers in photoshop so it looks like a motion when you put all the pictures into one slide.

How did these make you feel? These motion pictures actually really fascinated me because of how cool they look.

What happens when we combine multiple images to create animations? i think it turns into more of a video than a picture because of the movement but its still a picture in its own way.

Is it photography, is it film, is it somewhere in between. i would say its somewhere in between because the pictures do both.
