You get a totally new photo that makes it look like a real picture with something crazy added. It seems like the image was altered but also looks real.
Why do these work?
The colors work, the images fit, the editing is done perfect, everything just looks right and real.
What did the photographer have to do to get the photos to look like this?
He had to edit the pictures either in photoshop or some editing software. It makes it seem like it is real.

Two things being seen or placed close together with contrasting effect.

I could take the idea of combining 2 photos and making it seem like it is a new photo.

It works because they aren’t just random photos being put together you can see why they’d go together. Lining up the photos just right to get the desire effect. ~ when you mash up two photos it creates something different like the machines scooping ice cream or a huge hand picking up an umbrella when that “huge hand” is just a normal hand picking up a small umbrella and the other image is of people on the beach with a normal sized umbrella but the images create something different looking and interesting when put together

~ they work because the artist lined both image up correctly giving the allusion that there is a hand picking up the large umbrella . they also work because the artist made sure both images were taken at the right angle/range

I think that the photographer had to take two different photos and mash them up in Photoshop to make them look like the way they are. If you take one seperetly I believe that you can mash them up in Photoshop to make the photo look real. Like I said you have to take two photos and mash them up in Photoshop. To be honest I have no idea what is juxtaposition means. I could probably do something similar but with different photos of my own that I take.

An image of things that are conventional that are recreated with unconventional items to portray a common image. They work because the images look like they flow together very well and they provide a happy comedic unconventional feel to them.He had to take separate images and put them together so they match up exactly and look like something that uses weird items. hard to explain. The juxtaposition is used in many ways like the water tank and the boy drinking it like its milk or the truck and the cereal. I could take away trying to do juxtaposition to make the photos look and bring a more humorous feel.

You get a different point of view by mashing up two different photos. Humor is also created with these mashups. These work because of how realistic they look. The shadows, colors, and sizing all make them look real. The photographer had to use photoshop to make them look like they do. when they mash up photos like this it makes it so you look at the two images as conventional and normal on their own but when put together give a new perspective in the concept of the image and they work well because they’ve been scaled correctly so that the skier on top of the ice cream is smaller which makes the regular sized ice cone look much bigger. to make the these work the main two factors are scale and where the lines lead such as with the crane that goes into a scoop but thew scoop and the lines of the crane don’t contrast too much to where as they are recognizably separate before you notice they’re together.the juxtaposition is the placement of something over or close to another contrasting object but i get a lot of ideas about playing with the scaling of objects and the convergence of lines

The thing that is created after mashing up two different photos is something that is similar to a real life object, replacing certain parts with foods, toys, or hands. These work because you can still tell what the object is, even though there’s only half of the original object. The photographer had to think of what substitute object would work, they had to align it so that when put together it would look natural, they had to get the background to be somewhat the same color as the original object. A unique and different approach to perspective and simple photo-shopping can make everyone scratch their heads and question the picture for a bit. What id say that is created is a painting within a picture, a merge of two worlds becomes one and collides in the middle.
Why do these work?
These all work because they’re a photo series, they all have to do with either relatively large hands controlling small objects in what appears to be the normal world. Or really big portions of ice cream with machinery used as essentials to consume it. Or regular common objects with a food element in them.
What did the photographer have to do to get the photos to look like this?
The photographer had to take pictures of the object he wanted to manipulate, say he/she went out and took a picture of a tractor then took a picture of ice cream and photo shopped the ice cream wherever he/she felt appropriate.
