The feelings that I get from these photos is abandoned because you can tell that those buildings are old and also they look like they are sort of rotting away. I believe most people will look at the old buildings and then they will notice that there is sand covering most of the picture. I think that over the years the sand has been in those buildings throughout time and every year I’m guessing that the sand fills up the building. I think that our minds does whatever it takes to try to understand on what’s happening in that situation. I think that color plays an important role to make the picture more intense than the way it is.

Loneliness, isolation, berried and burdened. All that is left is what the eyes see. Appears to be as if its like quick sand filling the building but only filling it so much. We become curious and it becomes a mystery that we want to solve. The color plays a role in emotion and the feeling of desert and isolation.

When I view this photo series, I get the feeling of emptiness, abandonment, and hollowness.
My eyes mainly focus on the colors of the walls. I think they add the creepy feel to the photos. A town completely abandoned, all of it’s people vanished.
I wonder why the sand came through the town. Was it a dust storm? (Probably, duh)
My mind normally wonders whenever I don’t receive an answer. I come up with sometimes fictional outcomes that could be the real answer.
The color of the walls makes the abandonment of the town more creepier. The fact that people used to live in that town but left overtime is creepy.

when there is this much negative space in an image of sand where there is not really much happening but things like doors coming out of the sand is what draws the eye. the eye is immediately drawn to what doesn’t fit or what it recognizes or finds interesting in the room, typically not the sand itself but what is coming out of it. these images give a feeling of ominousness and when we cant make sense of something our brain can fabricate the image out of bits and pieces.
